Alex 60 at Oklahoma City Patriots 32

In a game that featured 92 combined points and over 800 yards of offense between the two teams, it was the Alex Longhorns who came out on top in the 60-32 game. Alex scored early and often while coming up with a couple of big defensive stands in the second half to secure momentum and the game.

The Longhorns found the end zone three times in the first quarter, including on their first drive of the game. Tony Craddock set the team up with great field position early with a long return on the opening kickoff. A few plays later, Kooper Boatwright found an open Tatton Anderson for the 22-yard score.

Anderson was player that Alex head coach Matt Brand had high praise for in the preseason. Anderson lived up to the hype in multiple facets of the game, catching five passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. He also made his name known on defense.

Alex forced three turnovers with two being interceptions by Anderson and Boatwright.

The Longhorns took command on their second drive after the defense forced a turnover. Boatwright found Danyon Snyder for a 32-yard gain to set up the Longhorns deep in Patriot territory. Craddock would score the first of his three rushing touchdowns and four total touchdowns with a run from 11 yards out.

Craddock reached the 100-yard mark in the first half with his four touchdowns. He finished with 106 yards on 17 carries.

The Patriots did get on the board in the first with a 50-yard run, but Craddock responded with a 51-yard touchdown run. Craddock added another touchdown run and a catch as Alex went to halftime up 36-12.

Alex came out in the second and half and made a statement on their opening drive, using Trenton Anderson in their physical rushing attack. He carried the ball five times for 35 yards and the first of his two touchdowns. He finished with 77 yards on the ground.

The Patriots would gain some momentum, cutting their deficit to 18 after a 61-yard score from quarterback Rahbin Ward. The Patriots at one point would take over on offense in Alex territory after stopping the Longhorns on fourth down.

The young Longhorn defense would step up and get a big stop, leading the Longhorns to score 16 consecutive points and take a commanding 60-26 advantage. The Patriots would add one more score late in the game.
