Agency honors Chickasha native for 25 years of service to citizens

— Oklahoma City — Oklahoma Commission for Rehabilitation Services recently honored Chickasha native Jeannie Milligan for 25 years of service to the State of Oklahoma and its citizens with disabilities.

Milligan, a Chickasha native, is an administrative officer with the Disability Determination Division (DDD) of the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS).

Serving the people of Oklahoma has given me more gratification than I could ever have imagine,” Milligan said. “The employees of the Department of Rehabilitation Services work hard and do a good job and I am extremely proud to be a part of the team.”

Commissioner Ben White said: “It is a rare accomplishment for an employee to give so many years of service. We are very proud Ms. Milligan and honor her achievement.”

DDD staff determines medical eligibility for Social Security Administration (SSA) benefits for two federal programs, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

  • Flash flooding strands motorists in OKC

    OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Flash flooding across the Oklahoma City area stranded motorists on their morning commutes Monday, prompting at least a half-dozen rescues and at least three interstate closures, authorities said.
    No injuries were immediately reported but drivers were being warned to stay off the roads, Oklahoma Police Lt. Gamille Hardin said. Portions of interstates 35, 44 and 235 were closed, as were numerous smaller thoroughfares in and out of the metro area.
