— Rocky Terrell
Rocky Lynn Terrell of Chickasha, was born to Elmer A.(Sonny) and Etta Jane (McCortney) Terrell on July 25, 1958 in Duncan, and passed from this life on July 14, 2013 in Chickasha, at the age of 54 years old.
Rocky spent many years growing up in Victoria, Texas before moving back to Oklahoma. However, Rocky had always considered Victoria his hometown and was in the process of moving back. He was a 1976 Victoria High School graduate.
Rocky had worked in construction, ranching, welding, and rodeo. For many years Rocky worked as a large equipment operator and truck driver. Rocky enjoyed guitar playing, music, motorcycle riding, monster truck and tractor pulls, rodeos, deer hunting, and fishing.
Rocky came to know the Lord Jesus Christ at the early age of 10 while attending Vacation Bible School at Central Baptist Church in Luling, Texas. Rocky leaves behind many friends and family who love him dearly and will miss his sense of humor and his loving heart. We will miss our brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. We rejoice in the assurance in Scripture John 14:1-3, "Do not let your hearts be troubled; you believe in God believe also in Me. In my Father’s House are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
Rocky is preceded in death by his father, E. A. (Sonny) Terrell; maternal grandparents, Rube and Mildred McCortney; and paternal grandparents, Elmer and Lola Terrell.
Rocky is survived by his mother, Etta Jane Terrell of Rockport, Texas; brother, Tony and wife, Mary Terrell of Temple, Texas; sister, Darla and husband, Mike Williams of Rockport, Texas; nephew, Kenneth Gray of Vista, California; and nephew, Stratton Williams of Dallas, Texas as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Tony Terrell, Mike Williams, Stratton Williams, Kenneth Gray, Barry Dean, Jered Dean, Jason Terrell, David Haslam, Robbie Burleson, Mark Keeling, and Craig Lauger.
