Charles Frederick Norrell

— Funeral service for Charles Frederick Norrell, 84, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2013, at the Fletcher First Baptist Church with Reverend Rodney Campbell, officiating.  Burial will follow at the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Norrell passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.  He was 84 years, 3 months, and 2 days old.

Charles Frederick Norrell was born November 5, 1928, in Paris, Texas to Robert and Maud (Young) Norrell.  Charles married Norma Jean Watts on April 7, 1951.  The two were married for 61 years when she passed away on January 21, 2013.  Charles served his country in the United States Army from March 22, 1943 until retiring from active duty on March 26, 1963.  He continued to serve through the United States Army Reserve until 1969.  Charles then began working for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in 1970 until retiring in 1992.  He enjoyed Western movies and old country and western music and tinkering in his shop.  Charles loved his country and flew the American flag with pride.  Of all the things he enjoyed, Charles loved spending time with his wife and family the most.  He was always telling them to eat so they could be “Big, fat, and pretty.”  Charles was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and his sense of humor will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean Norrell; 3 brothers: Arley, Roy, and Marvin Norrell; and 2 sisters: Dorothy Schrick and Norma Jean Brumley.

He leaves behind to remember him, children, Ramona Harmon and husband, Larry, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Debi Bell and husband, Eddie, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Brenda Williams and husband, Don, of Alex, Oklahoma, and son, Jeff Norrell of the home, as well as eight grandchildren, Michelle Woolworth, Jeremy Bell, Kelly Slattery, Taylor Dudley, Jesse Sites, Christopher Matthews, Chance Norrell, Courtney Norrell, three great grandchildren, Brooke Woolworth, Haley Woolworth, and Morgan Woolworth, two great great grandchildren, Carson Fulton and Creed Fulton; two sisters, Bernice Cozart of Fredrick and Peggy Waltman of Elgin, and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.
