Elijah Antonio Watson

The Express-Star

— Elijah Antonio Watson

Six-year-old Elijah Antonio Watson was granted his angel wings on May 2, 2014 following a lengthy illness. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Elijah had touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life.

Elijah's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His beautiful smile could melt the hearts of those around him. In just a few short weeks Elijah had almost 2,000 followers on his Team Elijah page. People from around the world left him messages of encouragement and photos wearing shirts to support him.

Elijah had a fascination with trains, he loved watching Thomas the Train, Chuggington and Dinosaur Train. He loved to spend time playing with his little brothers. The only place he loved more than home was school because he would get to eat some of Ms. Rochelle's pancakes, he was greeted each day by his best friend, Zion and his favorite teacher, Mrs. Hinton.

Elijah is preceded in death by his grandmother: Alisa Sledge of Chickasha,  along with great-grandparents: Robert Richardson and Olivia Richardson of Chickasha,

Elijah is survived by his mother, Myeasha Williams; his father, Chad Watson; brothers: Christian Richie, Tristian Blakes, Mycah Watson and Jonah Watson, all of Oklahoma City.

Memorial Service will be May 16, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Eastside Church of Christ  1501 N.E. 36th Street Oklahoma City with Minister Gary Jones, Sr. officiating.
