Memorial service for Mary LaVerne Kelley, age 75 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Johnny Tims will officiate.

Mary LaVerne was born on February 21, 1939, the daughter of Nora and Henry Powell in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She died on April 24, 2014 in Chickasha.

She married Dennis Kelley on January 22, 1972 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

LaVerne was a stay at home mom most of her life. In her earlier years, she loved camping, fishing, and boating with her family. Gambling was her passion and yard sales were her hobby. She knew the Lord and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed sitting and visiting with friends and family. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nora and Henry Powell, brother, Buddy Powell, two sons, Jimmy R. Luke and Darren H. Kelley, granddaughter, Tabitha Sam, and grandson, David A. Auffet.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Kelley of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Rick and Carla Dougherty of Pryor; son and daughter-in-law, David and Cecelia Luke of Oklahoma City; daughter and son-in-law, Vikki Luke and John Cope of Chickasha; daughter and son-in-law, Machelle and Ronny Sam of Chickasha; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren.

Service is under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
