Arthur L. "Hotshot" Kell
Funeral services for Arthur L. Kell, of Chickasha will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Sharon Baptist Church.
Arthur L. "Hotshot" Kell was born Aug. 27, 1935 in Blanchard to Joseph Howard and Eva (Smith) Kell. He passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 in Chickasha, at the age of 77.
His family homesteaded in the eastern part of Grady County on the McClain/Grady county line where they had a dairy and farmed peanuts. Arthur went to school in Dibble until the fourth grade when his family purchased a farm east of Chickasha and they moved to that location in 1945.
He met his long time sweetheart, Sarah Ann Humphrey, in the fourth grade. Throughout school he played basketball for Friend School where he earned his nickname “Hotshot” from his ability to shoot the basketball. Then in 1954, his senior year, his team won the very first Class C high school State Championship for Friend High School. During that year, he was named for the Oklahoma All-State Team. During the state championship tournament, the head coach of the University of Oklahoma, Bruce Drake, offered Arthur a full scholarship to come play basketball for him
On Sept. 1, 1956, Arthur married his longtime sweetheart of 10 years, Sarah Ann Humphrey. They were married in Sharon Baptist Church of Chickasha. They were married for 53 years. After completing his Bachelor’s degree at OU in Industrial Engineering, he took over his father’s farm and dairy operation. He raised his family and attended Sharon Baptist Church.
He was a member of the Young Cooperatives for AMPI, Oklahoma Peanut Producers, Varsity O Club Letterman Member for the University of Oklahoma, National Rifleman’s Association Lifetime member, top peanut award honors and USJCC Outstanding Young Farmers Award.
Arthur loved watching kids play sports, especially at Amber-Pocasset and Friend Schools. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of basketball. He enjoyed traveling far and wide to watch his grandkids’ sports and activities. Arthur had a passion for growing peanuts and promoting the use of peanuts throughout the world. His reputation as one of the outstanding peanut producers in the country proceeds him. Arthur enjoyed attending Sharon Baptist Church and served on many committees over the years.
He is preceded death by his wife, Sarah Kell, his parents, Joseph and Eva Kell, and four sisters, Leatrice Baggett, Evelyn Veal, Norma Wilkerson and Gloria Wythe.
Arthur is survived by: his daughter, Kimberly Kell Ashley and her husband, Phil, of Tulsa and his son, Arthur Lee Kell, Jr and his wife, Sherri, of Chickasha; grandchildren: Faith Kell of Broken Arrow, Miranda Kell and Levi Kell, both of Chickasha, Hannah Ashley and Hayden Ashley, both of Tulsa; and a brother, Edward Kell of Tulsa.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Family requests memorial donations be given to the Sharon Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Kristin Rogers, of Alex, OK, will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Grand Assembly of God Church, Chickasha, OK.
Kristin Rogers was born to Randal Rogers and Marla (Lee) Rogers on September 26, 1992. She passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 at her home at the age of 21.
Kristin grew up in the Alex area and graduated from Alex High School in 2011.
She is survived by her mother, Marla Rogers, of Alex, OK. Her father Randal Rogers of Maysville, OK. A brother, Aaron Rogers and his wife, Morgan, of Yukon, OK. Grandparents: Bruce and Eunice Lee of Alex, OK, Walt and Viola Rogers, of Chickasha, OK
Many aunts, uncles, cousins and many other relatives and friends. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Julia Ann Jones
Funeral Services for Julia Ann Jones, 61, of Tuttle, OK will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 9, 2013 in the Sowers Memorial Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home in Tuttle, OK. Julia was born December 10, 1951 in Chickasha, OK. She died December 5, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle, OK.

Buddy was born August 7, 1926 and died December 6, 2013.

Memorial service at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 14th, at the Maranatha Baptist Church on 29th St, Chickasha, OK. Reception to follow service.
