Bobby Ray Crump
Funeral service for Bobby Ray Crump, age 84 of Chickasha will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel.
Bobby Ray Crump was born the son of Joseph Crump and Leona Bazar Crump on March 10, 1930, in Tabler, Oklahoma. He died on June 12, 2014, in Oklahoma City.
Bobby graduated from Pocasset High School. In 1950, he entered the US Air Force where he served as a medic. He retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1970 with over 20 years of service. After his military service, he lived in California for many years. He worked for the California Department of Corrections for 19 ½ years as a nurse and correctional officer. He moved to Chickasha in 1995 and married Judith Eastep Fitch on October 14, 1995. Bobby was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Pocasset Lodge #403.
Bobby was one of those rare individuals whose charismatic personality engaged the room wherever he was. From his Air Force years, he had friends far and wide around the world. He had a ready joke or quip for family and friends on every occasion. Bob enjoyed painting, was an avid golfer, and learned to play piano after he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Billy, Kenneth, and Larry Crump, one sister Connie Davidson, and first wife, Mary Kangas Crump.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Crump of the home; brother, John Crump of Chickasha; brother Leon Crump of Columbia, South Carolina; sister, Norma Hayes of Chickasha; step-children, Michael Kangas, Bobby Kangas, Becky Pokunow, Barry Fitch, James Fitch, Dwain Fitch, Keith Fitch, Bryan Fitch; numerous grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
