Patrick Kirby

— Patrick Kirby was born on Oct. 3rd, 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was an eagerly anticipated addition to the family by his parents Willie and Donna Kirby and big sister Tami who was 9 years old at the time. Patrick had a happy childhood growing up in both Las Vegas, Nevada and Oklahoma. He participated in all the usual childhood sports and activities, loved playing with his friends, and enjoyed school only because that’s where he got to see his friends every day.

Patrick’s real passion started emerging when he was in JHS and he developed a love of art. He would draw in sketch books, on notebook paper, on scrap paper and even graffiti on the garage walls. Art was his way of expressing himself. Later on, art became not only his hobby but his primary interest and vocation. He became a tattoo artist and completed two apprenticeships in body art in Ft. Collins, CO. and Houston TX. With the help of his dad, Patrick opened a tattoo shop in Chickasha, OK where he worked until moving to Mustang in 2009.

Patrick was also able to travel extensively in his young adult life again with his dad by his side. They backpacked through Europe visiting countries such as Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Denmark and Amsterdam. They also made many road trips in the NW and SW United States. He always loved California but Colorado was to be his ultimate home. He loved the mountains in Colorado and dreamed of living there with his boys.

Patrick met Amber Harris in 1999. They were best friends then and still friends when he died. Eventually Patrick and Amber became parents of two wonderful boys named Collin (age 8) and Seth (age 5) who became the love and primary focus of his life. It worked both ways. Those boys loved their daddy. They did everything together. For the last 3 years since moving to Mustang they have developed wonderful friends in the neighborhood who love Patrick and the boys. He was actively involved in their school activities and never missed a school event.  Patrick and Collin and Seth were always out playing. They played basketball and soccer, they went to the park, they practiced their archery skills, and practiced target shooting with their plastic pellet guns.  They rode their bikes and go karts and drew pictures……….all three of them constantly drawing pictures and coloring. They played video games with “Skylander” being their current favorite.  Almost every day Patrick and the boys could be found in the back yard swinging. They loved for their dad to swing them high and higher. They made club houses and painted graffiti on boards. They hiked and camped out. They had great fun together. Patrick often said he used to wonder why he was born and when he had these boys he figured out why he had been put on this earth…… to be the best dad for his boys he could possibly be. Patrick was a unique person who was much loved by his family and friends.  He will be missed each day.
