— Terry Wayne Lyons
Funeral service for Terry Wayne Lyons, age 70 of Alex, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Eric Sharum will officiate.
Terry Wayne was born the son of Chester Lyons and Alma Washington Lyons on Dec. 19, 1943. He died on May 4, 2014 in Oklahoma City.
Terry was a graduate of Alex High School where he was very athletic, excelling in football and track. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty, he returned home and worked in the oilfield. He married Pamela Boswell on October 23,1973, in Wichita Falls, Texas. While working in the oilfield, he also worked on the farm with his father-in-law. In 1980, he started working on the family farm in Ninnekah full-time until he was unable due to his health. He loved farming and took great pride in it. He especially loved his family and the Lord. Terry was a man of few words unless he was telling stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Alma Lyons and brother, Kenneth Lyons.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Lyons of the home; son and wife, Trent and Juliet Lyons of Dallas, Texas; daughter and husband, Courtney and James Fox of Cache; daughter and husband, Tera "Bunny" and Dusty Albright of Alex; grandchildren, Brooke, Hudson, Jeremy, Maci, Chase, Reagan, Ashlee, Austin, and Lexi; brother, Wilford Lyons of Alex; brother and wife, Don and Rita Lyons of Chino Valley, Arizona; several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
