— Hazel Lee "Dude" Traywick
Graveside service for Hazel Lee "Dude" Traywick, age 98, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Ninnekah Cemetery. Dr. Bryan Haynes will officiate.
Hazel Lee "Dude" was born on March 20, 1916, the daughter of Robert McKenna and Lucy Hill McKenna. She died on April 26, 2014 in Chickasha.
Dude grew up in and around Grady County and finished school at Friend High. She married Howard Wenzel in 1936 and moved to Phoenix, Arizona. In 1977, she moved back to Oklahoma to care for her mother. She met and married Jack Traywick and moved to Anadarko. After Jack’s death, she moved to Chickasha.
She was a member of the College Heights Baptist Church. Dude’s hobbies were golf and dancing. She also had volunteered for sixteen years at Grace Living Center in Chickasha.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucy McKenna, two brothers, John McKenna and Robert Parnell McKenna, sister, Maymie Newport, son, Jim Wenzel, her husbands, Howard Wenzel and Jack Traywick, and stepdaughter, Lovetta Kidd.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Shirley Wenzel of Alex; granddaughter and husband, Barbara and Johnny Pelley of Chickasha, grandson and wife, Jimmie and Mona Wenzel of Blanchard; granddaughter, Patti Wenzel of Tempe, Arizona; granddaughter, Pam Wenzel Geist of Wickenburg, Arizona; seven great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; sister, Flora Mae Rodenhaus of Chickasha; step son and wife, Jackie and Clara Traywick, step daughter and husband Gail and Robert White, and stepdaughter Lydia Burnett; many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
