Sally Jo Curry

Sally Jo Curry, 78, of Chickasha died on Aug. 22, 2012 at her home from complications of lung cancer. Sally was born in Danville Ill. on Jan. 7, 1934 to her parents, Ed and Elda Davis. Sally went to school in Danville, Ill. and Utterbach Business College in Danville, Ill. She was married to her husband, William (Bill) Curry, on May 23, 1953 in Danville, Ill.
Sally moved to Chickasha with her husband in 1989 and has been a busy citizen in Chickasha ever since. Sally was a hard worker and has worked at Homeland, First National Bank and retired in 2005 from Wal-Mart. Sally was an active member in the First Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star, and had also served on the board of of directors for local charity, Stepping Stones and worked at the Chickasha Food Pantry. Sally was a feisty lady that left an impression everywhere she went and will be missed by many.
She is survived by: her husband of 59 years, Bill Curry of the Chickasha; her daughter Karen (Curry) Williamson and son-in-law Rick Williamson, also of Chickasha; her grandchildren: Angella (Williamson) Strudgeon and her husband. Clint Strudgeon of Havelock, NC, Rachel White of Danville Ill., and Brad Williamson of Chickasha; her great grandchildren: Christian, Makinzy and Dalton Williamson of Chickasha, Harley Whitehead of Havelock, NC and Bryar White of Danville, Ill.. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sally was preceded in death by her son, Billy Curry of Catlin, Ill., in 1978 and her sister, Mary Ann Griffin of Danville Ill., in 2004.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 428 S. 6th Street in Chickasha on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m.
