Michael U.S. Crawford

— Michael U.S. Crawford

Memorial service for Michael U.S. Crawford, 57, of Norge is set for Monday, Sept. 16, 2013. Family meal will be held at noon, with service to follow at 1 p.m. at Full Gospel Church, 722 N. 10 in Chickasha. Pastor Alice Wendling will officiate.

Mike was born July 2, 1956 in Chickasha to Tommy Gene Crawford and Zola Katherine Spearman Crawford and died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at Mercy Hospital.  Mike grew up in Chickasha and was a roughneck in the oilfield for most of his adult life.

He was also a jack of all trades, but master of none. Mike enjoyed living, laughing and being with family and friends, riding his motorcycle, and driving fast cars. Mike lived on the edge, but kept close to his roots.

Mike and Becky were united in 1979 and then again Sept. 2, 2013. For 33 years, they were inseparable. In 1981, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Jennifer and in 2001, a wonderful grandson, Michael.

Mike was one of the sweetest guys you could ever know. Tough on the outside, but tender inside. He was always willing to help a friend, or even a stranger whenever he could. He would give the shirt off his back or the last dime in his pocket, because Mike knew that earthly possessions don't matter. It's the things you do and how you treat people that are important.

Mike loved Jesus all his life, instilled in him by his loving mother. Mike has gone to join them in Heaven now. No more suffering, no more sorrow. We will miss him terribly and our hearts will never mend, for he truly was "one-of-a-kind strong."

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Gene Crawford and Zola Katherine Spearman Crawford.

He is survived by his wife, Becky, of the home; a daughter, Jennifer Crawford; grandson, Michael Anthony Crawford; and a brother, Tommy Crawford; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, too many to list but each one dearly loved.
