Funeral service for Jody Watson Farley, of Chickasha, OK, will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, November 8, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Jody Watson Farley was born December 29th, 1964 in Bakersfield, California to LeRoy Farley and Rosemary Sullivan. He passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Shawnee, Ok at the age of 48.
He was raised in Oildale, California where he spent most of his early life. He moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma in 1995 to work and raise his children.
Jody was highly respected in the oilfield community, as he was in every area of his life. He worked his way up from a floor hand on both work-over and drilling rigs to eventually becoming a yard manager for Drumright Oil Well Services. He then spent a year consulting in the deserts of Egypt. After deciding he wanted to be closer to home and family, he returned to supervising rigs for Drumright and consulting locally.
He spent most of his life working to provide for his five children, his wife and their future. Jody found great happiness in living a full life.
He reunited with his first love, JoAnn, and married her shortly after. Together they enjoyed concerts, riding his Harley, scuba diving in Hawaii, frequent trips to California to see his mother, brothers and extended family. His new found passion was skydiving.
Jody was fun and loved to laugh. He was well liked by all that knew him. He was loved and cherished deeply by his children, wife, family, friends and colleagues.
Jody was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Watson Farley, Step-mother, Barbara Jean Farley and his brother, Jimmy Fritz.
Jody is survived by his wife, JoAnn Farley, his mother, Rosemary Sullivan, two sons: Justin and Jacob Farley, three daughters: Jessica, Lacey and Lindsey Farley. Brothers: Larry Farley, Terry and wife Shelly Farley, Gary Sweeten, Stephen and Wife Lesa Farley, Kenny and wife Angie Farley, Michael Farley, Daniel and wife Becky Farley, and sister Heather and husband Michael Bates. He was also survived by five grandchildren and two additional grandchildren on the way.
Jody was the most humble, kind, and generous man we ever knew. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial account has been set up for donations at First National Bank and Trust, attention Jody Farley Memorial Fund.
Interment will be in the Laverty Cemetery, Grady County Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Chickasha.
