Graveside service for Ella Pauline Culp, age 98 of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Ella Pauline was born the daughter of Nathan Mayo and Clara Baine Mayo on Dec. 28, 1914 in Marshall County, Oklahoma. She died on Sept. 20, 2013 at her home in Chickasha.

Pauline graduated from Ardmore High School. She later attended Oklahoma College for Women, receiving a degree in music. Pauline and her late husband Raymond shared a beautiful love for music. Pauline began teaching voice and piano from her home in 1960 and continued teaching until 2003 when she retired. It was gratifying for her to watch her students achieve success in music. Pauline’s hobbies were gardening and cooking delicious meals.

Pauline was a member of the First Baptist Church and the College Heights Baptist Church. She was also employed to play the organ and direct the choir at the First Presbyterian Church. Pauline was also director of the McDowell Choir for many years. She was a devout Christian and will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Clara Mayo; husband, Raymond L. Culp; sister, Imojean Jordan; brother, Warren Mayo.

Survivors include her son and wife, Raymond Mayo "Sparky" Culp and Barbara "Babs" of Del Norte, CO; grandson and wife, Brian Huntley Culp and Billie of LaVeta, CO; grandson, Bonner Cody Culp of Erie, CO; step-great-granddaughter and husband, Mandy Roberts and Bryon of Blanchester, OH; step-great-great-grandchildren Valerie, Ethan, Luke, and Samuel; sister, Frankie Pontius of Oklahoma City; brother and wife, Harold Mayo and Janet of Burmingham, AL.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. There will be no viewing. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
