Funeral service for Felix Madison Chaney, age 87 of Chickasha, OK, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013 in the Grand Assembly of God Church.
Felix Madison was born the son of George Washington Chaney and Mary Lea Smith Chaney on August 27, 1926 in Filmore, OK. He died on September 29, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Felix grew up in Filmore and moved to Chickasha as a teenager and entered the United States Army at the age of eighteen. He served at the end of World War II and returned to Chickasha after the war. On September 2, 1950, he married Sylvia Hall in Ninnekah. Felix worked in the trucking industry and operated a trucking company for thirty years. He later worked as a security guard in Oklahoma City. Felix helped establish the Farmers Market in Chickasha. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Chaney; one brother, Herman Chaney; three sisters, Mertle Marcial, Armenta Turner, and Mildred James.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Chaney; son and wife, Jackie and Sue Chaney; daughter and husband, Rosa and Mike Halcomb; son and wife, Jimmy and Opie Chaney; daughter, Barbara "Suzy" Chaney; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; brother and wife, W. L. and Lessie Chaney; sister and husband, Joyce and Keith Hurley; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.
Interment will be in Ninnekah Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
