Ethel Berniece Williamson

— Rush Springs: Ethel Berniece Williamson, 75, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in Oklahoma City.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

The family will receive friends at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel from 6-8 p.m. on Friday.

Ethel was born Sunday, February 13, 1938 in Rush Springs, to Willie Sampley and Bonnie (Evans) Sampley. She lived most of her life in the Rush Springs area. Ethel attended high school in Rush Springs. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from OCLA in Chickasha, and her Master's Degree from Southwestern University in Weatherford. Ethel taught for Broxton Public Schools eight years before moving to Oklahoma City area teaching for 28 years. She returned to Rush Springs in 2008. On April 1, 1954, Ethel married Charles RJ Williams in Tahlequah. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1979. Ethel later married Jackie L. Williamson in Gainesville, Texas on February 13, 2004. In her younger years Ethel enjoyed sewing and making porcelain dolls. She was a member of the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association. Ethel loved her church, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Vimy Ridge Baptist Church in Rush Springs.

Survivors include, husband; Jackie L. Williamson of the home, three sons; Jerry Williams and wife Gayle of Anadarko, Gary Williams and wife Darla of Chickasha, Randall Williams and wife Tasha of Chickasha,; daughter; Berniece Petersen and husband Chad of Bend, Oregon, 15 grandchildren; Jody, Jarrod, Jennifer, Sarah, Robert, Krystal, Gary, Jeremy, Julia, Misty, David, Vanessa, Tyler, Alex, and Dustin,20 great-grandchildren, six brothers; R.J. Sampley and wife Delorise of Rush Springs, Ray Sampley and wife Pat of Lawton, Roy Sampley and wife Berniece of Blanchard, Billy Sampley and wife Carolyn of Duncan, Rick Sampley and wife Jean of Duncan, Darrell Sampley and wife Joyce of Lawton, sister; Sylvia Willoughby and husband Carl of Blanchard, numerous nieces and nephews, three sisters-in-law, Toresca Foster and husband Allen, Pauline Berry, Sharon Tampkin, and brother-in-law, Freddy Williamson.

Ethel was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Frank, Herschel, and Vick Sampley.

Pallbearers will be: Jody Roberts, Jarrod Roberts, Robert Williams, Gary Williams, Jeremy Williams, and Dennis Willoughby.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church Pew Fund.
