Donna Mitchell, 59, of McLoud, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 in Shawnee.
She was born on July 15, 1954 to Arthur and Georgia Bell (Christian) Carter in Chickasha.
Donna was raised in Chickasha and attended Chickasha Public Schools. She lived most of her life in Chickasha until moving to McLoud, where she has resided since.
She married Dale Mitchell on Nov. 15, 1970 in Chickasha.
Donna worked in many places during her career working as a cashier and as a prison guard.
She loved to work in her garden and can foods from her garden to share with family and friends. Donna enjoyed sewing, working in her flower beds and was known as very kind and loving person.
She was preceded in death by her father, Authur Carter, Jr.
Donna is survived by her husband, Dale Mitchell, of the home; 2 daughters, Sherrie Graham, of Shawnee and Tabitha and Leland Konechney, of Shawnee; mother, Georgia Brower; sister, Linda Logan; 2 brothers, Nicky Carter and Gary Carter; 5 grandchildren, Courtney Graham, Kyla Konechney, Jordyn Konechney and Mason Konechney; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, 2013. Service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at Cowboy Country Church in Norge, with Pastor Lynn Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Laverty Cemetery in Norge, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
