— RICHARD ‘DALE’ WRIGHT

Funeral service for Richard ‘Dale’ Wright, 79, of Chickasha, will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Richard ‘Dale’ Wright was born Sept. 24, 1933 in Alex, the son of Joe (Jack) Arlise and Beulah Mae (Airington) Wright. He died Jan. 4, 2013 in Chickasha.

Dale lived in the Alex and Chickasha area most of his life. He graduated from Dibble High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955, as a postal clerk in Austria.

He and Virginia Wright were married in July of 1956. To this union three children, Brenda, Steve and Mike, were born. He worked as a dairy route salesman for Gilt Edge and Bolton Dairies for several years. He then worked building horse trailers. In the late seventies, he started working for Purdue Home builders and then for Virgin Lumber Company where he worked for 17 years. He then worked for Ross Feed Company where he retired at the age of 71.

Dale’s favorite hobbies were hunting, reading western books, and raising fruit trees.

He was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by Parents.

Survivors include wife: Virginia Wright of the home; Children: Brenda Cavin and husband Tom, Steve Wright and wife Mary, Mike Wright and wife Penny; grandchildren: Dylan Cavin and wife Lindsay, Sara Cavin, Melanie Wright, Brandee Wright, Jesse Wright, Cody Wright, Brandon Wright and Nikki Wright; two great-grandchildren: Harleigh Cavin and Ethan Barber; a brother: Jerry Wright; Sisters: Anna Threadgill, Barbara Williams and husband Nelson, and Shirley Rawson

Interment will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Lindsay, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
