Douglas Morris

— Douglas Morris

Services for Douglas Morris will be Monday, April 1, 2013 at 10 a.m.. in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Elders Mike Hughes, Ricky Harcrow, and Mike Montgomery officiating. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Family visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

 Douglas was born to Albert and Katie Morris on June 5, 1929 at Verden, and died March 26, 2013 in Oklahoma City at the age of 83. He and Clariece Martin grew up on neighboring farms. They married July 28, 1949 in Chickasha. Douglas had the greatest respect for Clariece. They were friends from early childhood. She was employed, and provided great support for him while he was earning a BS Degree in Stillwater. She has been his lifelong love, friend, and supporter.

Douglas served two years in the U.S. Army of which fifteen months was with the 6th Armored Calvary Regiment in Bavaria, Germany. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He earned a BS and MS degrees at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.

Douglas was very devoted to his professional life to Vocational Education, and taught and gained great respect of many high school and adults students . He taught Industrial Welding, and served as Business and Industrial Coordinator at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center in Ardmore. He retired in 1988. He had a great love for the family.  

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Katie.

He is survived by his wife Clariece of the home; son Terry Wayne Morris and wife Belinda of Ardmore; daughter Pamala Sue Bates of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; grandchildren Clayton Bates of Mobile, Ala., Tyler Morris of San Antonio, Texas; Crystal Mazza and husband David of Columbus, Ohio; one great-grandchild David James Mazza III; brothers Robert Morris and wife Charlene of Virginia, Herbert Morris and wife Vanada of Oregon.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Bates, Tyler Morris, David Hull, Daniel Hull, Hal Martin, and Jay Martin. Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation 825 Northeast 13th Street Oklahoma City, OK. 73104. Online condolences may be made at craddockfuneralhome.com.

    A come and go ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held for Jacqueline Ann Bohannon, 77, of Duncan, Oklahoma on Saturday, May 3rd at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ in Chickasha from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  Jackie was born June 18, 1936 in Allen, Oklahoma to the parents of Harold and Bea Hammonds.  She passed from this life to be with her Lord on April 10, 2014 after a prolonged illness.

    Clifford Franklin Williams, 98, of Minco was born November 6, 1915 at Minco, Oklahoma to Claude Custer and Viola Pearl (Pettis) Williams. He died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home in Minco, Oklahoma.
        Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014, 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Minco. Reverend Bob Waitman and Reverend Bob Hines officiating. Burial, Evergreen Cemetery of Minco, Oklahoma under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.

    Funeral for Reva Mae Burlison,88, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Andy Lashley will officiate and Brian Johnson will assist.
    Reva Mae Royal was the 7th of 9 children, born to Walter Scott Royal Sr. and Nellie Speer Royal. She was born in rural Harmon County, near Hollis, Oklahoma on September 23, 1925. She passed away on April 16, 2014, in Chickasha.
