— David Franklin Jones

Funeral service for David Franklin Jones, age 69 of Chickasha, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ed Whitley will officiate.

David Franklin was born the son of John Franklin Jones and Ila Nova Farmer Jones on July 18, 1943 in Ada. He died on Dec. 5, 2012 in Chickasha.

David graduated from Ada High School and from East Central State in Ada. While in Ada, he married Susan Cordell on June 4, 1966. David then attended and graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. After graduation from funeral service, David and Susan moved to Chickasha. At that time, David began working as a funeral director for Brown Funeral Home then later Brown-Binyon Funeral Home. Due to his health, he retired in 1998. After retirement, David worked part-time for McRay Funeral Home. For several years while working as a funeral director, he also operated David’s Carpet Cleaning. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ila Jones and one brother, Jerald Stanley Jones.

Survivors include Wife: Susan Jones of the home; Brother and Wife: J C and Anne Jones of San Antonio, Texas; Sister: Nina Betts of Moore; Brother and Wife: Dan & Patricia Jones of Ada and Several Nieces and Nephews

Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
