Thurman Dwain McClure

Funeral service for Thurman Dwain McClure age 75 of the Bridge Creek area, Oklahoma, will be held 1 :30 pm Wednesday April 5, 2006 at the Snow Hill Baptist Church of Tuttle.

Thurman Dwain McClure was born November 22, 1930 in Oklahoma City. He died Friday, March 31, 2006 at his home. He was the son of Roy and Pearl (Gibson) McClure.

Dwain graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City. He played basketball and baseball and was still an avid fan. He was basketball captain his senior year. For nearly 20 years, Dwain and Betty enjoyed square dancing. He was currently bowling in a mixed league and was a golfer. He was a New York Yankee Baseball fan.

Dwain lived in the Bridge creek area for over 37 years. He worked as a dispatcher for Lee Way Motor Freight and worked with Hahn Freight Lines. After retirement, he also worked for several years as a school bus driver for Tuttle and Bridge creek. He was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church and was an active member of the church choir.

His wife Betty preceded him in death in 1996. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one son, Terry McClure in 2005.

Survivors include: five children: Karen Heflin of Corpus Christi, Texas Karla Craig and husband Foster of Tuttle Tim McClure and wife Pam of Chickasha Bob Phillips and wife Susan of Tuttle Todd McClure and wife Carol of Oklahoma City, Three brothers L.L. McClure, Donald McClure and Richard McClure One sister: Carol Gathright, 13 grandchildren Stacie Scott, Rishana Hurtado, Brian Heflin, Timilie Hughes, Kristie Meek, Kyle McClure, Brad Craig, Leslie Miller, Micaela McClure, Emily McClure, Dale McClure, Ben Phillips and Natalie Phillips. 7 great grandchildren and his best friend Lea Smiley

Interment will be in the Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.
