Funeral services for Alpha Louise Jenkins, 84, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the Fairlawn Cemetery with Vaughn and Joanna Wand officiating.
Alpha Louise Jenkins was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, on September 11, 1928, the daughter of W.A. Spears and Millie May Ellis Spears. She died Monday, July 29, 2013, in Chickasha.
Louise grew up in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. She attended school at Union Hill Public Schools.
She married the love of her life Eddie “Jack” Jenkins, on December 30, 1948, in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
After getting married she came back to Chickasha, where she worked as a cook at the Shannon Springs Nursing Home and also at Bitsches Nursery, but most of her life she was a home maker raising her four children. She loved gardening and canning.
She was a member of Grand Assembly of God in Chickasha for over twenty years, where she helped in the women’s classes.
She was preceded in death by: both parents, brother; Raymond Spears, two sisters; Betty Prather and Wilma Spears, and granddaughter; Jennifer Smart.
Survivors include: husband Eddie “Jack” Jenkins of the home, son; Charles Jenkins and wife Beverly of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, daughter Jan Lee of Chickasha, Oklahoma, son; Larry Jenkins and wife Donna of Yukon, Oklahoma daughter; Pat Smart and husband Greg of Chickasha, Oklahoma, five grandchildren; Melissa Jenkins Johnston, David Lynch, Chris Jenkins, Janine Jenkins Hankins, and Natalie Smart Bobbitt, four great grandchildren; Chase Jenkins, Shelly Haynes, Holly Jenkins and Noah Hankins and one great great grandchild; Mason Daggs.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
