Almarie Owen was born on December 22, 1929 in Quanah, Texas to Land and Blanche Wall. She died on February 25, 2014 at Grace Living Center in Chickasha.

Almarie married Bruce Owen on July 28, 1951 in Plainview, Texas. Together they had one daughter, Lisa.

Almarie graduated from Quanah High School and earned an Education degree from Texas Tech University. Almarie worked as a teacher before becoming a stay-at-home Mom. Eventually, Almarie began working in the bookstores of the colleges where her husband, Bruce, taught. Almarie invested herself in the lives of college students by welcoming them into her home, as well as making costumes and building and painting sets for the numerous theatrical productions that Bruce was involved with.

Almarie was an accomplished painter, quilter, seamstress and stained glass artist. She spent many hours outdoors tending to her flower gardens and watching birds. Almarie loved animals and made a good home for many dogs over her lifetime. Almarie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her granddaughter, Tracie, and great grandchildren, Sydney and Hudson, were her pride and joy.

Most importantly, Almarie was a follower of Christ. She was marked by her love for others. She had an easy smile and a twinkle in her eye. In her later years, Almarie liked to show her love for others by baking. It was a special treat to receive a homemade cake and card from Almarie.

Almarie held a very special place in her heart for the people of Trinity Baptist Church of Chickasha, her final church home. She enjoyed serving and studying there, and the love and friendship she gained meant the world to her.
