Rush Springs: Joanne Kathleen Brown, 54, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at her home in Rush Springs.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the The Rock Church in Marlow, with Pastor Marty Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs..

Kathy was born Sunday, September 20, 1959 in Santa Paula, California, to Marvin and Glenda (Self) Cole. Kathy attended school in Santa Paula, California and had lived in the Rush Springs area for the past 27 years. She married James Dean Brown in Rush Spring in 1993. Kathy loved animals and enjoyed being outdoors and riding horses. She was proud of her children and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Kathy was a member of The Rock Church in Marlow.

Survivors include husband, James Dean Brown of the home; son, Rick Moore and wife Christen of Rush Springs; daughter, Joleen Chaney and Joseph Gulikers of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, C.J. Chaney, Cadon Chaney, Mylee Moore, Caden Moore, father, Marvin Cole of Ardmore, four brothers, Marvin Cole, Jr. of Chickasha, Marlon Glen Cole and wife Julie of West Virginia, Martin R. Cole of Ardmore, Mike Cole of Santa Paula, California, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Glenda Gay and her grandparents.

Pallbearers will be James Brown, Marvin Cole, Sr., C.J. Chaney, Marvin Cole, Jr., Martin Cole, Rick Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Chaney, Joseph Gulikers, Cadon Chaney.
