Funeral service for Denver E. Ruth, of Chickasha, will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel.
Denver Ennis Ruth was born April 7, 1943 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Homer and Bertha (Snead) Ruth. He passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 71.
Denver lived most of his life in Chickasha. He married Judy Rae Burgdorf on Oct. 7, 1967 in Chickasha and to this union, two children were born.
Denver honored his country by serving in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1966 during Vietnam Era.
Denver enjoyed the outdoor life, loved fishing and enjoyed taking trips with his family to Florida and Colorado and loved his two grandsons dearly. He cherished the friendships of the employees and customers of Dunn’s Food Center where he worked as Produce Manager from 1982 until his retirement in 2011. Denver had strong Christian principles and long-standing friends and family that meant the world to him. We, his loved ones, rejoice in his being at rest with the Lord. He will be missed and remembered by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Paul Ruth, Bill Ray Ruth and Franklin Ruth; two sisters: Margaret Greenfield and Patricia Allred; and a daughter-in-law, LaVonna Ruth.
Denver is survived by his wife, Judy Ruth of the home in Chickasha; his son, Jason Ruth of Chickasha; his daughter, Kimberly Hall and her husband, Cpt. Lyle Hall, USN, of Ponte Vedra, FL; grandchildren, Cody and Logan Hall of Ponte Vedra, FL; brother, Pat Ruth and his wife, Cheryl, of Chickasha and sister, Angie Friskel of Chickasha; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends
Interment will be in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin at 1 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2014 under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
