Funeral services for Mr. C. P. Conaway were held Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Crockett with Rev. Keeney Dickenson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mr. C. P. Conaway, age 89, of Crockett, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 in the Memorial City Hospital in Houston.  He was born April 24, 1924 in Arbor, Texas and had lived in Crockett for the past 30 years.  Mr. Conaway was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II.  He was a member of the Crockett Lions Club, First Baptist Church and attended the Shady Grove Baptist Church.  Mr. Conaway was retired having owned and operator Duo-Fast in Houston.

Survivors include children: Steve Conaway and wife, Wendy of Houston, Chuck Conaway of Pasadena, Lynna Bond and husband, Randy of Houston, David Fleming and wife, Pat of Bastrop; grandchildren, Shawna, Crissy, Keith, Kim, Lesa, Kara, Keli, Lloyd, Michael, Dylan, Austin, Jason and Jeremy; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

Preceded in death by wives, Virginia Fay Conaway, Barbara Reed Conaway; son, Chris Conaway; parents, Asa and Iva Conaway; brothers, Paul, Clifford, Emory and sisters, Marie, Doris and Betty Jo.
