Margie Stanislaus died peacefully at her home on May 4, 2014 in Chickasha. She chose cremation, which was followed by a private family ceremony. She requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha.
Margie was born on Dec. 24, 1931 in Choteau, Okla., the daughter of Lucille Nicodemus Smith and step-daughter of Emerson Smith.
Margie graduated from Pryor High School in 1950 and later married Carl Stanislaus, who is also from Pryor.
They have one daughter, Terra Scholz and one granddaughter, Alexandra Scholz, both living in Florida.
During her 15 years with the Chickasha Public School system, Margie's most memorable work experience was in the reading program at Grand Avenue Elementary School.
Margie was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Director of Mother's Day Out, taught Bible school and children's Sunday school for many years.
She was a member of the Methodist Women, Seekers Sunday School Class. Margie was always interested in the welfare of others.
She was preceded in death by her mother, stepfather, grandparents and other relatives.
