— Funeral service for Wanda Sue Turner, 74, of Pocasset, Oklahoma will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Pocasset Baptist Church. Wanda  was born August 10, 1938 in Kinta, Oklahoma, the daughter of D.C. and Vernia (Hamilton) Riley. She died January 28, 2013 at her home in Pocasset.

Sue moved from Kinta to Amber in 1946 and moved to Pocasset in 1949.  She graduated from Pocasset High School in 1956.  Sue and Gene Turner were married January 17, 1957 in Pocasset. Sue worked at the Pocasset Post Office for 33 years retiring in 1992 as Postmaster.  She taught Sunday School and worked as a volunteer at the hospital and school.  She also worked for the Election Board and was the Pocasset Town Clerk. Grandma Sue spent countless hours watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pocasset and the Lions Club.

She was preceded in death by parents Vernia and D.C. Riley, brothers Bill Riley and Gerald Riley, one granddaughter, Kristina Wooldridge. Survivors include husband Gene Turner of the home, sons Bill Turner and wife Angie of Yukon, OK, Jim Turner and wife Terry of Pocasset, OK, daughter Dr. Darla J.  Lofgren of Tulsa, OK,  brother David Riley and wife Denice of Amber, OK,  sisters Sharon Franks and husband Dave of McAlester, OK, Daisy Sprowls and husband Jerry of Pocasset, OK, Vickie Kennedy and husband Jerry of Amber, OK, grandchildren Tandye Ryans and husband Keith, Elisha McKenzie and husband Patrick, Emily Marange and husband Chris, Dustin Turner, Joshua Turner, Maegan Grigg and husband D.J., Page Turner, and Brylan Turner, six great grandchildren Brandon Ryans, Blake Ryans, Riley Austin, Cadence Marange, Caleb Grigg and Cayleigh  Grigg expecting Jase Marange in May and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment will be in the Pocasset Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
