Phyllis Joan Lister

— Funeral services for Phyllis Joan Lister, 70, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating.

Phyllis Joan Lister was born in San Jose, California, on October 6, 1942, the daughter of Clay Parker and Velma Teese Parker. She died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at home.

Phyllis grew up in California graduating from Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, California.

Phyllis worked at one of the first Denny’s opened in Hollywood, California as a waitress. She then moved to Chickasha in 1978, where she owned and operated The Donut Man from 1979 thru 1982. She also worked for Western Sizzlin as a waitress and manager for many years, and owned and operated Lister’s Trucking Company for twenty years.

Phyllis married Carol Lister on January 7, 1993, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

She enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, her grandchildren and her Chihuahua Taco.

She was preceded in death by: both parents, brother; Bill Parker, two sisters; Vella Lene Ryans and Barbara Snyder and stepson; Butch Lister Sr.

Survivors include: husband; Carol Lister of the home, sister; Cloma Jean Butler of Lake Forest, California, three daughters; Lauri Jones and husband Terry of Amber, Oklahoma, Jeannie Sneed and husband Phillip of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Judith Rae Ann and Tracy Vanwyngaarden of Moore, Oklahoma, four sons; Jimmy Douglas and wife Glynnis of Medford, Oregon, Timmy Douglas and wife Beverly of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, Billy Douglas and wife Shannon of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Jason Douglas and wife Angela of Duncan, Oklahoma, stepchildren; Robbie Moss, Regina Mitchell and husband Harry and Landon Lister all of Chickasha, Oklahoma, nineteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren with one on the way.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
