Funeral services will be held for James Chester Ludwick, 82, of Chickasha at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, in the First Baptist Church with Michael Buttler officiating.
James Chester Ludwick was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, October 31, 1930, the son of Chester and Etha Ludwick. He died on Monday, June 10, 2013 in Norman.
He attended Okmulgee Public Schools from 1st through 12th grade, graduating in 1948. He was a member of the 1947-1948 OHS State Championship football team. James attended Oklahoma A&M for two years before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1952 and served as a Radar Specialist in the Korean War. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1958 with a degree in Agriculture Engineering. He worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over 30 years and retired in 1990.
James married Jimmie Wilson in September of 1953, and they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. The couple have two daughters, Julie and Jill and have lived in Chickasha for 40 years.
James loved to play golf, hunt, and fish. He also loved sports and made many trips to Stillwater to support the Cowboys in football, basketball, and wrestling. More than anything, he loved watching his grandchildren in the many sports and activities they were involved in.

Survivors include: wife Jimmie Ludwick of the home, two daughters; Julie Pruitt and husband Dusty of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Jill McClure and husband Brad of Norman, Oklahoma four grandchildren; Tyler Pruitt of Stillwater, Oklahoma Jessica Bennett and husband Chasen of Ada, Oklahoma Molly and Matthew McClure of Norman, Oklahoma numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends including lifelong friends; The Talleys, Lees, Elstons and Elliotts.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
