James Thomas Melton, 68, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Pocasset, passed away on Nov. 13, 2013.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1969 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a 10-year member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, where he was currently serving as governor. He worked in construction for 45 years in Oklahoma and Tennessee.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Melani Gae Melton-Hill; granddaughters: Lexi Lee and Parker Chamberlain and Kylee Jo Melton; great-granddaughter Abigail Rose Chamberlain; former wife, Belle Melton, all of Chickasha; special friend: Katie "Kay" Alford of Nashville, Tenn., and her son, Trey and Faith Alford and children of Knoxville, Tenn.; sister Anna Ruth Lee of New Mexico; brothers: David and Marie Melton, Clifford Melton, and Henry Melton, all of Tennessee; and lots of other family and friends in Oklahoma and Nashville.
A memorial was held Nov. 19, 2013 in Nashville, Tenn. A private burial will be set for a later date in Oklahoma.
