THOMAS PETTUS BRANCH JR.

— Funeral service for Thomas Pettus Branch Jr., 86, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at the First Baptist Church.

Thomas was  born March 17, 1927 in Cuthbert, Georgia the son of Thomas Pettus and Mary (Moore) Branch.  He died June 27, 2013 at his home in Chickasha.

Thomas lived in Ft. Scott, Kansas early in life.  He and Theresa Marie ‘Terri’ Dines were married September 1, 1949.

While living at Ft. Scott as a 7 year old boy, his job was pasting labels on coca cola bottles for his dad who managed the plant.  He eventually worked for coca cola for 49 years, serving as general manager in Joplin, Missouri and as regional manager in Wichita, Kansas.  He later was vice president of sales and marketing for coca cola in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

Thomas worked as an Insurance Agent for Physician Mutual for 20 years.  They came to Chickasha over ten

years ago.

Thomas served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chickasha. He was preceded in death by: His wife:  Theresa Marie “Terri” Branch October 11, 2009.

Great grandson-in-law: Tony James Potter.

Survivors include: 4 sons: Tom Branch III and wife, Gail, Robert Branch and wife, JoAnn, David Branch and wife, Kim, Michael Branch and wife, Pam, Sister:  Reginia Jackson and husband, Robert, Grandchildren:

Somi Yarbough and husband, James; Tommy Branch IV; Matthew, Branch and wife, Octavia; Robert Branch Jr. and wife, Melissa; Leroy Branch and wife, Katy; Christine Padilla and husband, Jeff; Amy Hazlehurst and husband, Michael; Alicia Branch; Michael, Branch Jr. and wife, April; Jonathan Branch and wife, Whitney;

Rebekah Branch; Kayla Branch; Sarah Rhodes; Josh Rhodes and Emily Rhodes. Great grandchildren: Ellis Eugene Branch, Austin Woodliff, Emily Potter, Ian Cano, Luke Cano, Ava Marie Branch, Sierra Padilla, Olivia Padilla, Charlie Mae Hazlehurst, Sydney Hazlehurst,  Mason Thomas, Branch and Julia Branch.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Ft. Scott, Kansas, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
