Carla was born Dec. 17, 1971 in Lawton to Don and Janie Hertzog. She graduated from Lawton High School in 1990, and earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration at Cameron University. She married Rusty Elam on Oct. 16, 1993, and they had three wonderful children; Austin, Lynnsie and Cael. She was a member of the state champion and runner-up National Champion Livestock Judging Team. She was a competitive athlete, playing softball and basketball at Lawton High and softball at Cameron University. Carla’s involvement in sports continued with her children, who were her life.
