Funeral service for Robert E. Chapman, 66, of Cement, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Maranatha Baptist Church.

Robert E. Chapman was born Jan. 18, 1946 in Chickasha, the son of “Pete” Rufus Chapman and Ruby (Simmons) Chapman. He died Sept. 26, 2012 at his home in Cement.

He and Carolyn Thomas were married June 5, 1965 in Chickasha.

Robert was a school teacher in Amber for a short time.  Then he attended seminary and became an ordained minister.  He was pastor for several churches and preached at many churches.  He also owned and operated a janitorial supply store and convenience store.

He was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a brother:  Richard Chapman and beloved son:  Devin Chapman

Survivors include wife:  Carolyn Chapman of the home; a daughter:  Amber Chapman-Smith of Amber; a son:  Justin Chapman of Cement; sister and husband: Venita and Al Parker of Bradley; grandchildren: Bronson Smith, Jordan Smith, Heather Smith, all of Chickasha; Summer Chapman, Skyler Chapman and Boston Ticer, all of Midwest City.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
