Funeral services will be held for H. Sam Wheeler, 90, of Chickasha at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating.             

 Sam Wheeler was born in Verden, on May 24, 1922, the son of Robert Lee Wheeler and Rosie (Woods) Wheeler. He died on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, in Chickasha.

Sam grew up on his parent’s farm west of Chickasha. He attended Valley View School through the sixth grade and transferred to Chickasha Public Schools where he met his future wife, Bernice. After high school, Sam attended Oklahoma A&M (now OSU) and graduated in 1939.

  On Nov. 22, 1941, Sam eloped with the love of his life, Bernice Heisler, to Anthony, Kan., where they were married. They had 65 happy years together and during that time they welcomed two children into the world: Phil and Karen.

Sam was a member of the United States Army and later became a self-employed farmer and rancher throughout the Grady county area.

He was a member of The Oklahoma Hereford Association and The National Hereford Association. Sam was also very active in The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association and he was a founding member of the Chickasha Elks Lodge.

Sam was very active in the agriculture community throughout Grady County. He was a supporter of Chickasha Future Farmers of America. He had won numerous farming awards during his career as a farmer and rancher.

He will be truly missed by family and many friends.

Sam was preceded in death by: his loving wife, Bernice and both parents.

Survivors include: one son and daughter in-law: Phil and Lynda Wheeler, of Chickasha; one daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Tom Singleterry, of  Dallas, Texas; two grandsons: Will Wheeler and wife Nicole, of  Chickasha, and Seth Wheeler, of  Tulsa; three granddaughters and their husbands: Tracy and Patrick Yokley, of  Vallejo, Calif., Misha and Matt Hillstrom, of Dallas, Texas, and Summer and Jason Mangum, of Singapore; one great-grandson: Aiden Mangum.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

    A come and go ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held for Jacqueline Ann Bohannon, 77, of Duncan, Oklahoma on Saturday, May 3rd at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ in Chickasha from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  Jackie was born June 18, 1936 in Allen, Oklahoma to the parents of Harold and Bea Hammonds.  She passed from this life to be with her Lord on April 10, 2014 after a prolonged illness.

    Clifford Franklin Williams, 98, of Minco was born November 6, 1915 at Minco, Oklahoma to Claude Custer and Viola Pearl (Pettis) Williams. He died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home in Minco, Oklahoma.
        Services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014, 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Minco. Reverend Bob Waitman and Reverend Bob Hines officiating. Burial, Evergreen Cemetery of Minco, Oklahoma under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.

    Funeral for Reva Mae Burlison,88, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Andy Lashley will officiate and Brian Johnson will assist.
    Reva Mae Royal was the 7th of 9 children, born to Walter Scott Royal Sr. and Nellie Speer Royal. She was born in rural Harmon County, near Hollis, Oklahoma on September 23, 1925. She passed away on April 16, 2014, in Chickasha.
