Frances June Harriman Gideon born June 23, 1929, in Hoffman, Oklahoma and passed away Dec. 3, 2013 at her home in Los Lunas, at the age of 84. She graduated from Chickasha High School, Chickasha, in 1947, and graduated from OCW, Chickasha,  in 1951.  She married Claud Gideon, Jr. of Granite, OK in 1953.  

She was a beloved teacher who taught for many years at Armijo and Emerson Elementary schools in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from University of New Mexico. She loved reading, writing, sewing, knitting, cooking and baking.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Burl William Harriman and Dorothy Lange Harriman of Chickasha, OK; and her brother, Donald William Harriman of Duncan, OK.

She is survived by her son Robert Gideon, of Los Lunas, NM; daughters Beverly Cormier of Grand Junction, CO; Marjorie Olson of Oklahoma City; and granddaughters Allison Cormier of Denver, CO; Julie Cormier of Grand Junction, CO; Samantha and Melanie Olson of Oklahoma City; her sisters Margaret Ratliff of Tulsa, OK, Dorothy Cox of Chickasha, OK, Barbara Noakes of Rockin, CA, and her brother David Harriman of Oklahoma City, OK, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and interment for Frances June Harriman Gideon will take place in July, 2014 at Fairlawn Cemetery, north of Chickasha, under the direction of Sevier’s Chickasha Funeral Home.  Exact time and date will be announced at a later date.
