Jimmie D. "Bullet" Phillips

— Funeral service with military honors for Jimmie D. "Bullet" Phillips, 68, of Minco will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Minco Church of Christ. Bob Hines of Hazel Dell Baptist Church, Cogar, will officiate the service. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Minco.

Jim was born March 14, 1945 in Weatherford, the son of J. C. and Florence  Melissa (Albright) Phillips and, surrounded by his family, Jim went to be with his Lord on May 28, 2013.

Jim graduated from Minco High School in 1963. He joined the National Guard and he then enlisted in the U.S. Army.

On March 14, 1975, Jim married Minnie Simmons in Wichita Falls, Texas.  They had a daughter, Melissa in August of 1975. Together, they raised three children: a son, Jimmy Simmons of Minco; two daughters: Robin Williams  and Melissa Phillips, both of El Reno. They lived in Chickasha and in 1987, they moved to Minco where they spent many happy years.

Jim was a welder by trade for 28 years. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and had won many awards for his bikes. He loved hunting and going to gun shows.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, J. C. and Florence Phillips of Minco.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie of the home; son, Jimmy of Minco; daughters Robin and Melissa of El Reno; five grandchildren: Karre Williams and Roger Williams of El Reno, Kristin Simmons of Chickasha, Alixiss and Zoie Simmons of El Reno.

Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
