Funeral service for Maxine Weller age 93 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Johnny Tims will officiate.

Maxine "MiMi" Denson was born the daughter of M. D. Robbie "Monk" and Elsie Denson on February 26, 1921 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She died on March 4, 2014 in Chickasha.

Maxine grew up in the Lindsay area and graduated from Hughes High School in 1939. Upon graduation from high school, she moved to Chickasha. In 1941, Maxine met the love of her life, William Louis "Bill" Weller, Jr. of Chickasha. They married July 1, 1943 and spent the next 67 years together until Bill’s death in 2010. After Bill’s discharge from the service in 1945, Maxine joined Bill in operating the family business, Weller’s Reliable Transfer & Storage Company until she retired. She was also an accomplished flower arranger working for Munn’s Flowers for many years.

Maxine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chickasha serving as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She helped shape the lives of many young ladies with her knowledge of the Bible and her wisdom. Maxine also loved to sing in the church choir and was involved for many years with the Beverly Lewis Circle study group. She was the epitome of "The Christian Worker".

Maxine was very proud of her family, from her two sons to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took great pride in their accomplishments and was a source of wisdom and encouragement.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, M. D. Robbie "Monk" and Elsie Denson and her brother, Paul Denson.

Survivors include her son and wife, Bill and Nan Weller of Bethany; son and fiancé, Bob Weller and Sandy Wood of Chickasha; grandson and wife, Matt and Sherri Weller of Yukon; granddaughter and husband, Jill and Shaun McCormick of Owasso; granddaughter and husband, Tamara and Brad Thompson of Yukon; granddaughter and husband, Amanda and Brian Brunett of Ft. Worth, Texas; ten great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
