Funeral service for Florence Alice Hughes, 92, of Alex, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Alex.

Florence Alice Hughes was born January 30, 1915 in Sandy Grove, Oklahoma the daughter of John Robert and Ruth Ethel (Rodgers) Neal and died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in Chickasha.

Mrs. Hughes lived in Grady County all of her life. She and Guy Hughes were married July 26, 1933 in Chickasha. He preceded her in death in 1994.

In 1949 she was saved and baptized at the same time as her son, Richard. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alex.

Mrs. Hughes was also preceded in death by:

one son: Jerry Thomas Hughes in 1988; one daughter: Pauline Abbot December 12, 2007; one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include:

son and his wife: Richard and Betty Hughes of Hammon, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
