Colby Justin McEntire was born March 25, 2005 in Norman and was granted his angel wings on September 20, 2007, following a lifetime illness. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Colby had touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life.

Colby’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His beautiful eyes and winning smile could melt the hearts of those around him. Colby possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds. With his courage he helped us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours playing with his favorite cars and tractor and cuddling close to those he loved much. He enjoyed playing with bubbles, dancing, finger painting, playing with his baby sister, and reading stories. he loved the color orange,Curious George, Diego, and his dog and cat, Zane and Callie

With Colby’s passing, we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him everyday, he will forever remain in our hearts. Through his teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be his parents. We are so thankful Colby’s sister, Macy, met her brother so she can hold dear the memory of Colby’s incredible courage.

Colby is survived by his loving parents, Brian and Amanda McEntire; sister Macy McEntire; paternal grandparents Linda Harris, Pat Buth, and Richard and Phyllis McEntire; maternal grandparents Ron and Karen Barrow and Norman and LouAnn Legleiter; paternal great-grandfather Elmor Buth; maternal great-grandmother Helen Klein, maternal great-grandparents Bill and Rita Legleiter; uncle/godfather Nathan Legleiter and wife Shanna; uncle Greg and wife/godmother Melissa; aunt Audrey Barrow; and cousin Nelson Legleiter.
