Debra Kaye (Rawson) Sparks Shoemake, 65, of Alex, Oklahoma departed this life on August 19, 2014, following a nearly four-year battle with ALS. She was born on May 27, 1949 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Leta (Evans) and Walter “Red” Rawson. Debra graduated from Dibble High School in 1967 and later earned a B.S. from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in 1990 and a M.Ed. from the University of Oklahoma in 1995.
Trula Faye Selzer was born on March 28, 1930 in Grady County, near Lindsay, Oklahoma, to John Oliver and Alice Burrous. She lived in the Lindsay and Bradley area all of her life, and she graduated from Lindsay High School in 1948.
Alma Viola Moore was born the daughter of Knute and Anna Lohner in Cedar, Iowa on October 13, 1919. Her family moved to Norge, Oklahoma when she was an infant. She was a long-time resident of Chickasha until April 2011 when she moved to Bethany, Oklahoma and then in June 2014 she moved to Richardson, Texas.
Services for Ira Joe Haffner, 83, of Minco, were held on Saturday, August 9, 2014, 2pm at the First Baptist Church in Minco. Officiating – Rev. Johnny and Rev. C. Wayne Childers. Burial will follow at the Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City. Under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco. Born – December 11, 1930 at Durant, Oklahoma to Ira and Vera E. Madge Cox, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Madera Community Hospital, Madera, California. She was born in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma on April 5, 1926 to Jim and Bernice Pease. When Madge was twelve years old the family moved to Verden, Oklahoma where she graduated from Verden High School. After graduating from high school, she married her high school sweetheart Earl Cox, Jr on December 2, 1944. They lived on a farm 10 miles north of Verden before moving to California in 1958. She was later employed by Continental Telephone Company in Dos Palos, CA as a line assignor for 12 years. In 1975 she and her husband moved to Chowchilla, CA where she worked for P.G. and E as a clerk at the local office. She retired in 1981 and enjoyed her activities of sewing, cooking, and reading. She was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Chowchilla.
Judith Ann King, 56 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Judith was born January 30, 1958 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Elmer and Eula Fern (Ross) King. She lived in this area most of her life and moved to Chickasha in 1995 where she currently lived. Judith attended school locally and also went to Caddo Kiowa Vocational Center in Fort Cobb and received her CNA certificate. She enjoyed puzzle books, nascar and collecting toys, especially Leggo's. Judith loved her family, spending time with them and especially with her grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a proud member of the Wichita Tribe.
Graveside service for Troy Lee Meeks, Jr., age 66 of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 2, 2014, in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma. Rev. Vera Walton will officiate.
Benjamin Heath Parr was born the son of Bradley Steven Parr and Kimra LeAnne (Lee) Parr on June 3, 1996 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He passed from this earthly life at the age of 18 on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at OU Medical Center, after being in a single car accident on Sunday, July 20, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Pastor Kim Hayes officiating.
Funeral service for Virginia Allen, of Pauls Valley, OK will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 28, 2014 in the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel, Chickasha, OK. A visitation will be held on Monday, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Paul Masters Arnold, Jr. died in Tulsa on July 24, 2014 at 65 years of age. Paul was born on October 13, 1948 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Paul Masters and Doris Luretta (Reiser) Arnold. On April 25, 1986 in Turley, Oklahoma he married Sherry Diane Bryant. Paul was a veteran of the United States National Guard. He was very inspiring to young people. He loved tinkering with things and teaching his grandkids to do the same. He also enjoyed teaching his grandkids about political issues. He was the Pastor of the Morris Church of Christ and was very involved with the Morris Community. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the community.
Martin D. Allen, 73, of Chickasha (formerly of Anadarko), was born February 15, 1941, in Chickasha to Troy and Nola Fayrene (Calliham) Allen. He went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014, in Oklahoma City.

Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Jonesboro High School and Wednesday July 23 at First Baptist Church of Lindsay, Oklahoma. at 11:00 a.m. with interment at Laverty Cemetery, Grady County Oklahoma. at 4:00 p.m.

Eddie Frank James, 37, of Coalgate, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in Alex, Oklahoma. The son of Cynthia Ann (Henderson) James and Alfred Dail James, Jr., he was born September 19, 1976 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Eddie graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1995 and then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. He continued his studies at East Central University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Education Technology. Eddie taught computer science at Coalgate High School for the past 10 years and was a member of Coalgate United Methodist Church. Eddie had a tremendous impact on his students, fellow teachers, and everyone he met. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and flying remote control airplanes. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends.

Services for Bessie Vallarie “Val” Christian, 82, formerly of Chickasha, will be held Friday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sevier Funeral Home and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David R. Mundell and Rev. Kim Hayes. Burial will follow at the Cement Cemetery.
