Some lucky family will win ownership of this fun and beautiful playhouse on Aug. 28 this year. It’s, once again, time for you to buy tickets for the CASA playhouse. You don’t have children at home, you say? How about donating your prize to a local church or a family you know? The drawing will take place at the Grady County Fair, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28.
This year, the CASA of Grady County is happy to receive a creation by Johnny Taylor of TaylorCraft Portable Buildings in Blanchard. You may have seen other playhouses of Taylor’s around the county at various locations. His whole line of buildings can also be seen on the web at taylorcraftportablebuildings.com. And once again, Chickasha Lumber Company has stepped up to offer materials at no charge to the CASA playhouse project.
The retail cost of this playhouse would normally be more than $1,300. It has a porch roof and is 6 feet by 6 feet in size.
CASA board president, Veda Bush, said, “We are so fortunate to have such generous and caring businesses and individuals who support our projects and programs. With state budget cuts, we will work even harder so that we will not short-change our children.”
Tickets can be purchased at the local banks and at the radio station. They are still priced at $5 each or six tickets for $20.
CASA Voices for Children trains volunteers, who advocate for the best interest of abused or neglected children in the court system, CASA volunteers are essentially the “eyes and ears” of the court. They come from all walks of life, and receive at least 30 hours of training in advocacy skills taught by professionals in the field.
