Latham, Bowman place at state powerlifting

McCLOUD, Okla. —

Just two weeks after winning a state title in wrestling, senior Josh Latham has another for the mantle.

Latham won the gold at 220 pounds at the state powerlifting meet in McCloud on Friday. He was joined in a podium finish by senior Oron Bowman, who took runner-up at 224 pounds. Spencer Crumrine completed the trio of Chickasha representation after they all qualified in regionals a week earlier.

Latham also was named Outstanding Lifters among all heavyweights at state with a total of 1,470-pounds lifted. He and Bowman continue to build on memorable senior years after both performed well during football season. Latham made a game winning touchdown to put Chickasha in the playoffs, while Bowman had the game winning sack.
