Verden hosts regionals, Rush learns district opponent as postseason heats up

GRADY COUNTY —

Verden hosts Class B regionals starting Thursday as they try to advance in the postseason.

The Tigers host Varnum at 11 a.m. on May 1, followed by Olustee and Coyle at 1 p.m. The winners of those games will meet at 3 p.m., with the victor advancing to the regional final on Friday.

It will follow the conclusion of the elimination game in the tournament. The Tigers are three wins away from advancing after they thumped Temple in district last week.

In Class A, Amber-Pocasset will travel to Glencoe where they'll play Preston at 1 p.m. on Thursday. A win will see them take on either the hosts or Okay at 3 p.m.

Rush Springs begin their district battle in Class 2A with a best of three series against Dibble they host on Thursday. Ninnekah heads to Hobart for their district series the same day, while Minco takes on Cordell.
