Chickasha High School sophomore golfer Cody Burrows finished 23rd out of 74 golfers at the state tournament at the Tulsa Country Club.
Burrows shot 82 in the first round and 77 in the second round on the first day of the tournament on Monday.
Tuesday, he shot an 84 in the final 18 holes.
"He just didn't have his A or B game," head coach Chad Randle said.
Despite Burrows' struggles at state, Randle said the sophomore has improved throughout the year.
"He has definitely improved," Randle said. "He puts a lot of work in. Golf is a tough game because so many things need to go right to play well, even for the best players.
"He will take this year's experience and use it to keep advancing and be even better for his junior season."
