Burrows wins regionals, will compete at state tourney

— Chickasha High School sophomore golfer Cody Burrows won the class 5A regional tournament in Duncan on Monday.

Burrows shot a 72 and a 78 at the Duncan Country Club to advance to the state tournament for the second year in a row.

The state tourney will be played Monday and Tuesday, May 6-7 at the Tulsa Country Club.

Burrows made state last season, and finished near the middle of the field at Chickasaw Pointe in Kingston, Okla.

The tournament is set to begin at 8 a.m. in Tulsa, with Burrows teeing off at 8:10 on the front nine. He will play in a group with Trey Hunt of Durant and Cameron Cowan of Piedmont.
