Pressure on as Del City pays Chickasha a visit

CHICKASHA —

The importance of the remaining games for Chickasha (3-4, 1-3) have jumped up a notch now that they find themselves in a scrap for the playoffs.

Round one of that dog fight commences Friday night when the Fightin' Chicks host Del City (4-3, 3-1), who currently sit second in the 5A District 1 table. Chickasha will hope to continue the second-half defensive effort they displayed against district toppers Ardmore last Thursday against the Eagles' potent run game.

Senior running back Anthony Mason will pose the biggest threat as he was a big contributor to the squad's 9-2 record last year.

The fact that Del City put up 52 potions on Altus, 38 on Lawton-MacArthur, and 20 on Ardmore is another indicator the Fightin' Chicks defense will have to get it right.
