Chickasha gets winning end to regular season

DUNCAN, Okla. —

The Chickasha girls have made it three wins on the bounce after coming out on top 66-30 against Duncan in their last game of the regular season on Monday.

The Lady Chicks (9-12) have built up a head of steam as they approach their first round playoff game against Western Heights. Dominique Golightly led the way once again with 17 points, while Alex Stewart finished on 14 points.

Jacklyn Ramos completed a trio of Chicks into double-digits with 10 points.

Chickasha had a strong first quarter, not only sinking 22 points but holding the Lady Demons to just two.

Duncan won the third quarter 14-13, but Chickasha's lead was already well established by then. Head coach Christy Edelen also pointed out the performance of freshman Jaycie Brown, who brought down a career high 10 rebounds to go with three points and four assists.

Chickasha heads to Piedmont for their meeting with Western Heights on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The Fightin' Chicks also pulled out a win, 64-60, over the Demons to end their season. The victory offers a bit of momentum heading into a tough playoff match-up against No. 5 Lawton-MacArthur on Friday at 8 p.m. Chickasha has made a habit of keeping big games close this season, going 4-5 in games decided by five points or less.
