Cache, Chicks to battle it out on the ground

(Continued)

CHICKASHA —

Wide receiver Montana Stonecalf has been ruled out for the trip to Cache, and possibly the next two to three weeks, with a shoulder injury he suffered against El Reno. This won't change the offensive set up, Cobble said, but it could lead to a change in how the receivers line up and see linebacker T.J. Filer pick up some of the slack on offense.

The El Reno result took Chickasha to an even record and past that opening week struggle against Anadarko. Now, Cobble said, the Fightin' Chicks have to show they understand how these first few weeks work by stepping up their performance even more against Cache.

"It's important that athletes understand you've got to play better every week," Cobble said. "You have to progress."
